Week 7 NFL Survivor Pool Picks (2026): Houston Stands Alone at the Top

Week 6 was the worst week of the season for the crowd. Arizona beat the Rams 18–16 on a field goal at the gun, Tennessee came back from 13–0 down to beat Indianapolis, and those two games alone took out more than half of the Circa Survivor field. Our top pick was the Rams. The Week 6 recap has the full accounting.

Week 7 has an unusual shape: one team priced near double digits and nothing else above 5.5. All numbers below are as of Monday and Tuesday morning, October 19 and 20.

Why Houston

The Texans are 2-4, which undersells where they are. They lost their first four, then won at Tennessee and beat Jacksonville 34–31 in London. C.J. Stroud has nine touchdowns against one interception through six games, and Tank Dell is on track to make his season debut Sunday. The Giants are 3-2-1 and have allowed 24 or more points in each of their last three games, with several starters carrying questionable tags into the week.

The market has moved toward Houston, not away. The Giants opened as 7.5-point underdogs and were 9.5 by Monday. RotoWire’s survivor grid calls this the Texans’ best remaining matchup, so there is no better week to wait for. Our expected value guide makes the case for spending a team in the week it is laying the most, and for Houston that is this week.

The ownership picture

Week 7 pick distribution had not been published as of Tuesday morning, so this is a read on usage, not a count. Covers expects Houston to be the most popular pick, which fits: it is the only big number on the board. From the consensus boards we cited each week, the field has spent the Chargers, Jacksonville and Detroit in Week 1, San Francisco in Week 2, Kansas City in Week 3, Baltimore and Minnesota in Week 4 (the Vikings at about 28 percent), Dallas, Cincinnati and Houston in Week 5 (the Texans at about 13 percent), and the Rams, New England and Indianapolis last week. Most live entries should still have the Texans, while a meaningful slice no longer has Minnesota or San Francisco.

Denver is the lightly used option if you want to separate from the crowd. The Broncos are 4-2, about 69 percent on FPI at Arizona, and have barely appeared on any consensus board this season. In a pool of several hundred or more, that ownership gap can be worth the step down in price.

Minnesota and the Jets

Minnesota is 5-0, off a bye, and hosting a 2-4 Colts team that just lost to Tennessee and fired its general manager on Monday. Shane Steichen said Daniel Jones will stay the starter. Jones has nine turnovers and is completing under 60 percent of his passes, and the Vikings’ run defense has allowed under 90 yards a game. At -5.5 it is the second-best price on the board, tied with the Rams. If you used the Vikings in Week 4, the Rams at Las Vegas are the equivalent number, though Los Angeles lost its kicker to a knee injury last week.

The Jets are the opposite kind of pick. They are 2-4 and not good, but Miami is 0-5, and the Jets have no obvious better week coming. Spending them costs you almost nothing later, which is the whole point. San Francisco prices about the same at Atlanta, but a 6-0 team is worth more to hold than to spend at -4.5.

Trap watch

Applying the framework from our look at trap games, here are Week 7’s structural risks, worst first. None of these is a prediction that a team will play badly.

The Week 7 read

Houston is the pick in most pools: the only big number on the board, still available to most of the field, and in its best remaining spot. Minnesota is the alternative if you still have the Vikings, the Rams if you do not, and the Jets are the pick that costs you the least later. In larger pools, Denver is the cleanest way to step off the crowd. If you run several entries, our multiple entries guide covers spreading them so one Houston loss does not end all of them at once.

Our own Elo-based ratings agree with the market that Houston sits alone at the top this week. The weeks the two part ways are the ones worth knowing about, and joining the waitlist is how you will see them once the app ships.

FAQ

Who should I pick in Week 7 of my 2026 survivor pool?

As of Tuesday, October 20, Houston at home against the Giants is the widest favorite on the board, at about 9.5 points and roughly -470 to -500 on the moneyline. No other team is laying more than 5.5. Houston is our top pick, Minnesota at home against Indianapolis is the alternative, and the Jets against Miami are the pick with the least future cost.

What will be the most popular survivor pick in Week 7?

Week 7 pick distribution had not been published as of Tuesday morning. Houston is the obvious candidate to lead it, since it is the only team priced near double digits and only about 13 percent of the field used the Texans in Week 5.

Is Lamar Jackson playing in Week 7?

Not settled as of Tuesday. He has missed two games with an ankle injury, and Baltimore's coach said a return against Cincinnati depends on him getting through a full week of practice. The Ravens are favored by 2.5 to 3.5 points.

Which teams are on bye in Week 7?

Buffalo, Jacksonville, the Chargers and Washington. That leaves a 14-game slate.
