Week 8 NFL Survivor Pool Picks (2026): Cincinnati Is the Only Big Number
October 27, 2026
The widest favorite on the board has now lost three weeks running. Dallas fell on a Thursday in Week 5, the Rams lost to Arizona in Week 6, and on Sunday Houston lost 27–21 in overtime to the Giants as a 10.5-point favorite. Per Covers, the Texans and Jets between them took out 559 of the 1,275 live Circa Survivor entries. Our top pick was Houston. The Week 7 recap has the full accounting.
Week 8 has a familiar shape: one team priced near double digits, a tier of four between 6.5 and 7.5, and a lot of field goals. All numbers below are as of Monday and Tuesday morning, October 26 and 27.
The quick verdict
- Top pick: Cincinnati at home against Tennessee. About -10 to -10.5, roughly -600 to -700 on the moneyline. Market-based estimates put the Bengals between 77 and 80 percent, and Kalshi had them at 84 as of Monday night. Nobody else on the board is priced above 71 percent.
- Alternative: Jacksonville at home against Indianapolis. About -7.5, roughly -355 to -410. The Jaguars are 4-2 and off a bye. The catch is that nearly a quarter of consensus entries used them in Week 1.
- Save your studs: Dallas at home against Arizona. About -6 to -6.5, roughly -285 to -300. The Cowboys are 3-4, the Cardinals are 2-5, and a 3-4 team costs almost nothing to spend.
- Avoid: Carolina and Green Bay on Thursday, the Rams until their injury report settles, Buffalo until Lamar Jackson’s status is known, Sunday night’s Eagles-Commanders game, and everything priced at a field goal or less.
The Week 8 slate
Fourteen games, with Houston, New Orleans, the Giants and San Francisco on bye. Lines are DraftKings via ESPN as of Sunday, with ranges where other books differed on Monday and Tuesday.

Why Cincinnati
The Bengals are 4-2 and coming off their best game of the season, a 35–13 win at Baltimore in which Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes without an interception. He has 15 touchdowns against three picks through six games. Tennessee is 1-6 and lost at home to Cleveland on Sunday. Cam Ward came into Week 7 with four touchdown passes and four interceptions, and SI has the Titans 30th in offensive efficiency. Our pick-against guide had Tennessee on the shortlist before the season, and nothing since has moved them off it.
Cincinnati’s injury report is short: safety Kyle Dugger is out, two tight ends are banged up, and nobody who touches the ball on offense is listed. RotoWire’s survivor grid flags this as the Bengals’ best remaining matchup, and our expected value guide makes the case for spending a team in the week it is laying the most.
The ownership picture
Week 8 pick distribution had not been published as of Tuesday morning, so this is a read on usage rather than a count. Covers expects Cincinnati to be the most popular pick. The complication is history. By the consensus boards we have cited each week, roughly a quarter of the field used Jacksonville in Week 1, about the same share used Cincinnati in Week 5, and about a fifth used New England in Week 6. All three won, so those entries are alive and cannot use them again. Dallas is the opposite case: the entries that spent the Cowboys in Week 5 are gone. Expect Cincinnati to carry the largest share of live entries in most pools, with Jacksonville second.
Jacksonville, Dallas and the rest of the tier
Jacksonville is 4-2, off a bye, and hosting a 2-5 Colts team that fired its general manager last week and is sticking with Daniel Jones. The one soft spot is that the Jaguars lost right tackle Anton Harrison to a torn ACL on Friday. At -7.5 they are the second-best price on the board, and if you used them in Week 1, New England at Miami is the equivalent number: the Patriots are 4-3, and the Dolphins are 1-5 with their only win coming against the Jets on Sunday.
Dallas is the save-your-studs play for a plain reason: a 3-4 team has little left to hold. The Cowboys just beat Philadelphia 38–21 on Monday night, and Arizona is 2-5 with Jacoby Brissett starting and Carson Beck questionable with a back injury. One caution: RotoWire notes the line opened near -10.5 and sat at -6.5 by Monday, with no public explanation we could find, which is reason enough to read Wednesday’s injury report before you lock.
The Rams at -6.5 to -7 look similar on paper, but Davante Adams went on injured reserve last week and the Chargers are 0-6 coming off a bye. Hold Los Angeles until the report is in.
Trap watch
Applying the framework from our look at trap games, here are Week 8’s structural risks, worst first. None of these is a prediction that a team will play badly.
- Ownership concentration on Cincinnati. Three straight losses by the week’s widest favorite are three independent results, not a pattern, and the Bengals’ price is still the best on the board. The risk is what a loss at that ownership does to your pool. Some of the crowd will fade the chalk on a bad-luck narrative; the useful signal is whether Cincinnati’s ownership actually drops, not the story.
- Quarterback news after your pool locks. Lamar Jackson has missed three games, is reportedly expected back for Buffalo, and was not confirmed as of Tuesday. Carson Beck is questionable in Arizona, Drew Lock is questionable with an elbow injury for Seattle’s Monday game, and Philadelphia is on Tanner McKee against a Washington team favored at -4.5 despite a 1-4-1 record.
- The Thursday game. Carolina at Green Bay kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET, which locks first-kickoff pools before the full week of injury reports. Green Bay’s offensive line is the issue: Sean Rhyan is doubtful, Jacob Monk went on injured reserve Monday, and Aaron Banks and Travis Glover are questionable. Carolina lost right tackle Taylor Moton to injured reserve and had two guards out of Monday’s walk-through. At -3.5 to -4.5, this is a game to watch, not to pick.
The Week 8 read
Cincinnati is the pick in most pools: the only big number on the board, in its best remaining spot, and healthy where it matters. Jacksonville is the alternative if you still have the Jaguars, New England if you do not, and Dallas is the pick that costs you the least later. If you run several entries, our multiple entries guide covers spreading them so one result does not end all of them at once.
Our own Elo-based ratings agree with the market that Cincinnati stands alone this week. The weeks the two disagree are the ones worth knowing about, and joining the waitlist is how you will see them once the app ships.
Survivor Caddy is the season planner we are building for exactly this decision: which teams you have spent, which are worth holding for later, and what this week’s pick costs you down the line. Join the waitlist to get it when it ships.
